Based in New York City, Gregory Moore and His Cosmopolitan Orchestra is a 12-piece, 1930s-influenced dance orchestra whose specialty is the dance music of the years between the “Roaring 20s” and the late 1930s swing era.

Gregory Moore formed the orchestra in 2007 after spending several years extensively researching this style of music, with a heavy emphasis on the male vocalists of the early 1930s (Russ Columbo, Bing Crosby, Al Bowlly and many others). Moore has been able to assemble a collection of over 400 original “stock” charts (orchestral sheet music sets). After a long career in the professional opera world, Moore “re-trained” as a singer, to learn to authentically replicate the era’s very specific vocal style, and wears both hats with his orchestra, as lead vocalist, as well as bandleader. The Cosmopolitan Orchestra made its New York debut in January of 2008, in a sold-out and wildly-acclaimed performance of a show written, directed, narrated, sung and conducted by Gregory Moore, titled Living In Dreams: The Russ Columbo 100th Birthday Tribute.
